The River Music Experience is not your typical center. You'll be dazzled by one-of-a-kind interactive technology that allows you to create a new and different experience each and every time you visit. 

Whether you're a music scholar or simply a roots music fan, there's something for all ages, interests and attention spans at the River Music Experience.

A scale model reproduction of the Streckfus Steam Line's flagship excursion boat that played a major role in the movement of music along the Mississippi. 

 

Also, check out our newer displays, including one that contains the actual Maestro 'Boomerang' Wah-Wah effects pedal believed to have been used by Jimi Hendrix during his August 11, 1968 appearance at the Col Ballroom, Davenport, IA!

Explore the innovators, styles and movement of the American songbook in ports of call from New Orleans to St. Paul and outward to Chicago and beyond. Watch Elvis, B.B. King and other icons come to life, as you trace the migration of music through the generations.
